چکیده

Erymoid lobsters (Crustacea, Decapoda, Erymoidea) are an important component of Mesozoic crustacean faunas in Europe, especially during the Jurassic. With 36 species reported, these reach their highest diversity Late After review presented here, 23 belonging to ErymaMeyer, 1840 (11 species), PalaeastacusBell, 1850 (2 PustulinaQuenstedt, 1857 species) and StenodactylinaBeurlen, 1928 (8 remain valid. One new is described: Stenodactylina shotoverigiganti n. sp., Eryma pseudoventrosaBeurlen, integrated Stenodactylina. We also notice oldest representative EnoploclytiaM'Coy, 1849, known by a single specimen unidentified at specific level. ventrosum (Meyer, 1835) most common Western may be seen as emblematic Middle-Late Moreover, lithographic limestones Germany yield exceptionally diversified erymoid fauna, with four genera (Eryma, Palaeastacus, Pustulina, Stenodactylina) 11 listed. All Jurassic representatives Palaeastacus were found this lithology. Finally, examination some specimens allows observation strong effects decortication on ornamentation erymoids resulting taxonomic issues.

Reproductive biology of galatheoid and chirostyloid (Crustacea: Decapoda) squat lobsters from the Gulf of Mexico.

Reproductive timing, fecundity, and average egg sizes were examined for galatheoid and chirostyloid squat lobster collections from the Gulf of Mexico. While congeners did not always significantly differ in egg size or timing, each genus had a unique average egg diameter size which may indicate whether the developing embryos will be lecithotrophic or planktotrophic larvae. The eggs of Eumunidida...

Effects of Late-Cenozoic Glaciation on Habitat Availability in Antarctic Benthic Shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda: Caridea)

Marine invertebrates inhabiting the high Antarctic continental shelves are challenged by disturbance of the seafloor by grounded ice, low but stable water temperatures and variable food availability in response to seasonal sea-ice cover. Though a high diversity of life has successfully adapted to such conditions, it is generally agreed that during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) the large-scale ...
